The following terms and conditions (the “Terms of Service”) constitute an agreement between you, whether as a student, tutor, partner, or casual visitor (“User,” “you,” “your,” “community member,”  “MatheStudent,” or “MatheTutor”), and MatheCord, including its affiliates, successors, and assigns (“MatheCord,” “we,” “us,”  “our,” or “Administration”). By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our platform.

MatheCord is a unique Discord platform dedicated to transforming the way students learn and engage with mathematics. Our community is designed as a connection point between passionate math tutors and students seeking support, making math learning more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

 

At MatheCord, we believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to excel in math.

 

  • MatheCord’s Mission

At MatheCord, our mission is to create a collaborative and supportive community where students and independent math tutors connect seamlessly on Discord. We strive to empower learners by providing free access to digital math practice worksheets and fostering engaging discussions that enhance understanding and appreciation of mathematics. Through personalized guidance and community support, we aim to make math concepts accessible and enjoyable, promoting academic success and confidence in every student.

 

  • Age Requirement 

The MatheCord Discord server is open to everyone seeking assistance in math. However, since tutors are independent educators and are not vetted by MatheCord, it is advised that anyone under 18 years of age be supervised by a parent or guardian while using the MatheCord server and during virtual tutoring sessions.

 

  • User Responsibility for Vetting Tutors  

MatheCord does not conduct official vetting of tutors. Each user is solely responsible for researching, evaluating, and vetting any tutor they choose to engage with on the platform. MatheCord will not be held liable for any decisions made by users regarding the selection of tutors. Additionally, if the tutoring services are for your minor child, please ensure you supervise all tutoring sessions. 

 

Please note: If you observe any suspicious behavior from any community member on the platform or from a MatheTutor, please report it to MatheCord. Your vigilance helps maintain a safe and secure environment for all users.

 

  • Limitation of Liability  

MatheCord's mission is to serve as a connection point for math tutors and students, striving to implement a safe environment for all. However, please note that MatheCord does not act as an intermediary for payment processing of tutoring services, nor does it conduct background checks on tutors. It is the responsibility of students (or parents of minor children) to research and read reviews about their chosen tutors. While MatheCord administrators will make every effort to address suspicious or fraudulent behavior, we disclaim any liability for the actions of any party involved in tutoring sessions. Users engage with tutors at their own risk.

 

  • Third-Party Links and Liability Disclaimer

The MatheCord server may contain links to third-party websites and downloads. MatheCord does not assume any liability for the content, accuracy, or security of these third-party links or downloads. Users are encouraged to exercise discretion when engaging with such content. If you encounter any suspicious links or downloads, please report them to MatheCord administrators by submitting a support ticket. Your safety is our priority.

 

  • Use of Educational Resources  

All educational resources provided by MatheCord, including but not limited to digital practice worksheets (LiveWorksheets) are intended solely for educational purposes. These resources are designed to facilitate learning and enhance the educational experience. 

 

1.Prohibition on Sale and Distribution  

The educational materials may not be sold, reproduced, or distributed for commercial purposes. 

 

2.Compliance  

By accessing and using the resources provided by MatheCord, users agree to adhere to these terms. Violations may result in the revocation of access and banning from the MatheCord server.  

 

3. Modifications  

MatheCord reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the resources constitutes acceptance of any changes made to the terms.

 

  • Fraudulent Activity Policy 

At MatheCord, we uphold the highest standards of integrity. We do not support any fraudulent practices by any user, whether a MatheTutor or a MatheStudent. If you encounter or suspect such behavior, please report it immediately by opening a support ticket in the server. All complaints regarding fraudulent activity will be thoroughly investigated by our administration team and handled in accordance with our policies. Your cooperation helps us maintain a fair and trustworthy environment for all users.

 

  • Subscription Plans  

To implement effective marketing strategies and fund necessary software, MatheCord offers subscription plans. Purchasing a subscription plan is not a requirement unless specific roles or features are desired. All subscription plans are recurring on a weekly basis and non-refundable once payment is received. Users may downgrade or cancel their subscription plans at any time, with the change being effective at the end of the current billing period.

 

  • Student Subscription Plans

Student subscription plans do not cover the tutor service fee. Tutoring service fees are separate from the subscription plans and are paid directly to the tutors.

 

  • Changes to Subscription Plans

MatheCord reserves the right to adjust the subscription plan pricing. Users will be informed in advance of any price changes through either an email notification or an announcement made on the platform.

 

  • Subscription Cancellation and User Ban Policy

MatheCord reserves the right to cancel any user’s subscription plan and ban any user from the MatheCord server if any unethical behavior is identified. Any subscription plans canceled by MatheCord administrators are non-refundable and will take effect at the next billing cycle. We are committed to maintaining a respectful and ethical community for all users.

 

  • Policy on Tutor Honesty and Ethical Obligations

At MatheCord, we take the ethics of our MatheTutors very seriously. Our commitment to providing exceptional tutoring services requires that all MatheTutors honor their obligations to MatheStudents. This policy outlines the expectations regarding MatheTutor honesty and the procedures to follow in the event of session cancellations.

 

1. Commitment to Honesty  

All MatheTutors are expected to maintain a high standard of integrity in their tutoring practices. This includes being truthful about their capabilities, availability, and commitment to the tutoring relationship.

 

2. Session Cancellations  

In the event that a MatheTutor needs to cancel a tutoring session for any reason, it is requested that the following options be provided to the MatheStudent:

   - A full refund of the session fee.

   - An offer for a makeup session at a mutually agreed-upon time.

 

3. Contractual Inclusion  

This policy must be included in every contract between MatheTutors and MatheStudents. By purchasing a MatheTutor subscription, MatheTutors acknowledge their understanding and acceptance of these obligations.

 

4. Consequences of Dishonesty  

MatheCord will NOT tolerate any dishonesty by MatheTutors, particularly regarding the honoring of tutoring services. Failure to comply with this policy will result in serious consequences, including:

   - Cancellation of the MatheTutor's subscription plan.

   - A ban from the MatheCord server.

  • Tutor Reviews

To ensure a safe and informed experience on MatheCord, we have established a dedicated MatheTutor review channel on the server. Before selecting a tutor, it is highly advised to read the reviews provided by fellow MatheStudents to gauge the tutor's effectiveness and teaching style. After your tutoring session, please take a moment to leave a review rating your experience. Your feedback is invaluable in helping other MatheStudents make informed decisions and fosters a supportive learning community.

 

  • Tutor Status  

MatheTutors using MatheCord are not employees of MatheCord. They operate as independent contractors and are responsible for their own interactions with students.

 

  • External Communications

At MatheCord, we prioritize the safety and security of our users. It is important to understand that MatheCord will not be held responsible for any communications or arrangements made outside of the MatheCord platform. This includes private messages (DMs) between tutors and students regarding tutoring services.

To ensure a secure tutoring experience, we encourage all users to arrange their sessions through the MatheCord server. This not only provides enhanced protection for both students and tutors but also allows for better transparency within the tutoring process.

MatheStudents and MatheTutors can communicate effectively through our dedicated tutor-student ticket channel. This channel serves as a safe environment for discussing tutoring needs and arrangements. Additionally, users can read and submit reviews for tutors, further promoting accountability and quality within our community.

By utilizing these features, users can ensure a more secure and trusted tutoring experience.

 

  • Sessions on Alternate Platforms  

MatheTutors have the right to conduct tutoring sessions on any platform of their choice. It is at the tutors’ discretion to use MatheCord’s connected learning platform, Lessonspace. 

 

  • Session Recordings on Lessonspace 

Please note that all Lessonspace sessions are recorded for quality and safety purposes, providing protection for both MatheTutors and MatheStudents in the event of accusations, disputes, or disagreements. If any party does not wish to be recorded during a session, they must inform the MatheTutor prior to the session.

 

  • Tutor Profile Limitation

Each MatheTutor subscription is limited to one tutor profile only on MatheCord server. The sharing of tutor subscriptions is strictly prohibited. The administration team will perform regular checks to ensure that each tutor's profile information is consistent with the math topics they provide tutoring services for. Any user found violating this regulation will face immediate banning and the cancellation of their subscription plan.

 

  • Student Account Limitation

Only one student is permitted per MatheStudent subscription. Sharing a Lessonspace student account among multiple students is strictly prohibited. MatheCord reserves the right to ban any MatheStudent found violating this rule, in addition to canceling their subscription.

 

  • Student Access on Lessonspace 

Students without a MatheCord student subscription plan are not permitted to have tutoring sessions on Lessonspace. All MatheStudents will have a student account on Lessonspace, so there will be no adding of students by MatheTutor on Lessonspace. MatheCord administrators will routinely monitor Lessonspace and will remove any student accounts that lack an active MatheCord student subscription.

 

  • Tutor Responsibilities  

MatheTutors are responsible for managing their own student/tutor contracts, schedules, tax obligations, and payment processing. MatheCord is not involved in agreements made between tutors and students.

 

  • Online Tutoring Connection Only  

MatheCord exclusively serves as an online platform for connecting tutors and students. Users are strongly discouraged from arranging in-person meetings due to safety concerns. Should any users choose to meet in person, MatheCord will not be held liable for any incidents or outcomes that may arise.

 

  • User Conduct  

Users agree to utilize the MatheCord platform for lawful purposes only. Users are expected to maintain a respectful and appropriate demeanor while interacting on the MatheCord server. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

- Harassment or intimidation of others

- Sharing inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content

- Engaging in fraudulent activities

- Disorderly conduct, including but not limited to disruptive behavior, excessive use of offensive language, or personal attacks on other users.

 

  • Disorderly Conduct Policy  

Users exhibiting disorderly conduct on the MatheCord server may receive a warning or be banned from the platform at the discretion of the MatheCord administration. The administration reserves the right to assess the nature and severity of the disorderly conduct and take appropriate action, including immediate termination of access.

 

  • Affiliate Program Rules and Instructions

To ensure a positive and effective experience for all affiliates, please adhere to the following rules and guidelines:

 

1. Compliance with Program Policies

All affiliates must comply with the terms and conditions set forth by MatheCord. Familiarize yourself with our policies to ensure alignment with our brand values and objectives.

 

2. Prohibited Activities

Affiliates are prohibited from engaging in the following activities:

- False Advertising: Misleading or deceptive marketing practices that exaggerate or misrepresent MatheCord products or services are strictly forbidden.

- Spam: Sending unsolicited promotional emails or messages, or engaging in any form of spam marketing.

- Inappropriate Content: Promoting MatheCord products or services alongside content that is illegal, offensive, or harmful.

- Impersonation: Misrepresenting yourself as an employee or representative of MatheCord.

- Bidding on Brand Terms: Affiliates may not bid on keywords related to MatheCord’s brand or use our brand name in PPC campaigns without prior authorization.

- Cookie Stuffing: The practice of placing cookies on a user’s device without their knowledge is strictly prohibited.

 

3. Disclosure of Affiliate Links

In accordance with advertising regulations, affiliates are required to include the following disclosure in all promotional content that contains affiliate links:  

"Some links in this post are affiliate links, and I may earn a commission if you click on the link and make a purchase."  

This statement must be clearly visible and legible, ensuring transparency to your audience regarding potential earnings.

 

4. Promotional Content Guidelines

Ensure that all promotional content reflects the quality and professionalism of the MatheCord brand. Affiliates are encouraged to create original, engaging content that aligns with our mission and values.

 

  • Termination of Use  

MatheCord reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access to the platform at its discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that it believes violates these Terms and Conditions or is harmful to other users or the platform.

 

  • Changes to Terms  

MatheCord may modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of any changes via the platform or through email notifications. Continued use of the platform following such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

 

  • Governing Law  

These Terms are governed by the laws of Montgomery County, Maryland. Any disputes arising from these terms will be handled in the appropriate courts of Montgomery County, Maryland.
